A Bit About Us
We are a new and enthusiastic group of 5 University of Chester Events Management students, planning an animal themed children's event in aid of the Chester Deafness Support Network. Our aim is to educate children about deafness through signing, to focus on inclusivity in the local Chester community and create an event that is accessible and available to all.
Charity
DSN was founded in 1976 as the Cheshire Deaf Society, and now provides a wide range of support and services for Deaf, Deaf-blind, and people with a Visual Impairment in Cheshire and the surrounding area.
Their vision is to help create “A world where people with sensory loss can communicate effectively and live healthy, independent and fulfilling live.”
Their focus in on improving equality of access, life experiences and opportunities for Deaf People.
Our Event
Wild Around the World
Wild Around the World is a child friendly animal Activity based event which will explore different animals and their continental origins throughout the world. There will be various creative, themed activities for the children to participate in, from science experiments to craft tables and an animal themed picnic. There will also be the opportunity to learn some simple Makaton at different activity stations to help increase inclusivity of all children whilst parents can enjoy refreshments. All profits will be donated to the Chester Deafness Support Network, helping to bring awareness to this incredible charity.

Wild Around The World is a small and welcoming indoor activity day. Here at Harmony Events we are passionate about accessibility and are doing what we can to create an inclusive event. This event is being held at Hoole Community Centre; accessible facilities at this venue include:
· Accessible Toilet
· Nappy changing table
· Ramp into the venue
· Blue Badge Parking
On the day of the event, the following will also be available:
· Buggy/Wheelchair storage
· Makaton Signs used throughout the day in addition to a Makaton workshop if interested
